Forecast of more rains in Sindh today

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains across Sindh on Thursday, while this intensity may continue till August 19.

Intermittent rain continues in various cities of Sindh including Karachi, Hyderabad, Umerkot, and Tando Allahyar.

Rescue teams were dispatched on the report that two boys were trapped in the flood water of Malir river in Karachi’s Umar Sons.

There are also reports of a car being washed away in the flooded relay on M Nine Link Road, a two-storey building collapsed near the KPT ground, but fortunately no casualties were reported.

The Korangi causeway road remains closed for traffic after the rains, while water is flowing several feet above the wall of the reservoir built on the Malir river near Memon Goth.

Meanwhile, the video of the school van getting stuck in the mud in Gulestan Johar has gone viral. The KMC staff who demanded money to remove the vehicle ran away after seeing the video being made.

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has informed that the monsoon low-pressure area persists over eastern Sindh and adjoining west Rajasthan (India).

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department The continuing wet spell over northeastern & southern districts of Balochistan to become intense

during 18-20 August which may trigger flash flooding in Dad”, Jamshoro. Kambar Shahdadkot Districts & downstream.

Heavy falls may create water-logging/urban flooding in low lying areas of Hyderabad. Badin, Thatta. Sujawal. Umarkot, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar. Tando Muhammad Khan. Tando Allayar, Dadu. Jamshoro, Noshero Feroz, Shaheed Benazirabad. Kambar Shahdadkot, Larkana & Sukkur Districts and Karachi Division today & tomorrow.

Persistent heavy rains over Khuzdar, Lasbella and Hub distts of Balochistan & over Kirthar Range may create extra pressure on Hub dam, Thaddo dam & downstream nullahs.
