Monitoring Desk Dec 22, 2021 – Libya’s education minister has been arrested for failure to provide children textbooks in this North African country.
According to the foreign news agency, the prosecution said that Musaul Mukarif, the minister for education, was arrested yesterday and has been detained after an investigation into this negligence to provide text books.
The statement added that several other officers, including the minister for planning, were also wanted in the case.
The Libyan government has been allocating money to provide free textbooks to every student at the beginning of the school year in September, since the days of former leader Muammar Gaddafi.
But this time the textbooks could not be provided yet, which led to the children photo copying and studying the books.
