Internet speed dropped to 1 terabyte in country due to cable fault in South East Asia–Middle East–Western Europe 4 (SEA-ME-WE 4)
According to telecom sources, internet cable service between Pakistan and Africa has been suspended, repair of the affected SEA-ME-WE 4 internet cable will be completed in January.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has started to shift internet traffic to other cables.
Telecom that internet speeds are likely to be affected during rush hour.
It should be noted that in October this year, internet speed dropped sharply in the country due to a fault developed in the Asia-Europe double AEN cable of 40 terabytes near 40 terabytes.
South East Asia–Middle East–Western Europe 4 (SEA-ME-WE 4) is an optical fibre submarine communications cable system that carries telecommunications between Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Egypt, Italy, Tunisia, Algeria and France.
