ECNEC approves 13 projects worth Rs 326 bn

ISLAMABAD (June 5, 2021): The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council has approved 13 infrastructure and development projects worth over 326 billion rupees.

The ECNEC meeting held in Islamabad with Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin in the chair approved dualization of Lilla Interchange at M-2 via Pind-Dadan Khan to Jhelum including two bypasses at a cost of 12.760 billion rupees.

The establishment of IT Park, Karachi, was also approved by ECNEC at the total cost of 31.199 billion rupees.

Two key projects including the reconstruction of 115 kilometer long Turbat-Mand Road from M-8 till Iranian Border-Radeeq costing 10.461 billion and construction of Panjgur-Gichak-Awaran Road, District Panjgur/ Awaran, 228 Km Project at the rationalized cost of 14.68 billion rupees were also approved.

Inter Provincial Connectivity Economic Corridor Through Gilgit- Baltistan and AJK (Thallichi GB- Shounter AJK), widening and rehabilitation of Astore Valley Road, Package i-iv_ 103 KM, Package iv-vii_ 18 KM, and total length 121 KM (package I to V and VII) Project was approved at the rationalized cost of 19.195 billion rupees.

The ECNEC also accorded approval of Dualization of Khuzdar-Kuchlak Section of National Highway (N-25), 330.52 Km Project at PC-I cost of 81.582 billion rupees and construction of Shandoor Gilgit Road, 216 Km Project at the PC-I cost of 49.946 billion rupees.

Gish Kaur Storage Dam, Sami Kallag, District Kech Project was approved at the total cost of 11.789 billion rupees. The dam will have the storage capacity of 0.04580 Million Acre Feet and will provide irrigation facility to 13800 acres of command area.

Pak University of Engineering and Emerging Technologies Phase-I was also approved in principle at the total cost of 23.551 billion rupees.
