75 Sindh University students booked on sedition charges

The requirement of domicile of Sindh for the post of Vice-Chancellor in the Government Universities of Sindh has been abolished.

Secretary Boards and Universities Mureed Rahimoo while speaking in his office said that now candidates from all over Pakistan and abroad will be able to apply.

He said that 120 applications have been received for the post of Director of Finance in 25 public universities of Sindh, while more than 100 applications have been received for the post of Vice Chancellor in 9 universities.

He further said that 80 candidates have been shortlisted for the test of director of finance, however, the process of examining the applications received for the position of vice chancellor will start from November 27 after the return of the chairman Sindh Higher Education Commission from Umrah.

Secretary Boards and Universities said that candidates from outside the province have also applied, we want to appoint good candidates based on merit, that’s why no province has been kept.

He further said that qualified persons should be recruited for the post of Directors Finance for which the passing marks of the test are being increased, this test will be conducted by IBA Karachi. If we do not find more qualified candidates for interview in the second round, we will re-advertise.
