4 policemen martyred and 263 injured in Punjab protests, IG Punjab

IG Police Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan has said that four policemen have been martyred and 263 injured in the recent protests in Punjab. It cannot be allowed for a religious group to take the whole country hostage and impose its will on important national decisions.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, in Lahore along with Punjab government spokesman Hassan Khawar, IG Police Punjab Rao Sardar Ali said that the politics of using religious cards, violent demonstrations, sit-ins, sieges and vandalism was a culture of banned movement. At every sit-in and meeting, state officials were attacked.

Strict security in wake of expected protests in Pindi and Lahore

He said that shots were fired by the protesters, in any case, they would provide an atmosphere of peace to the citizens and would not allow this gang to do as they wished.
