Hafeez Sheikh’s No comments on budget

Former Finance Minister Dr Hafeez Sheikh while told a reporter that he has no comments on the federal budget and that he will take part in politics.

“I am seriously considering many aspects for the future,” Former Finance Minister said while talking to a reporter, adding that he was in Pakistan to discuss the current budget and the new figures.

Expressing interest, Hafeez Sheikh said he was engaged in consultations about his future.

In response to a question, he said that he was infected with corona virus last month but now he is fine and at the moment he is feeling weakness.

Who is Hafeez Shaikh?

Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh is known as renowned Pakistani economist who served as Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Affairs from 11 December 2020 to 29 March 2021.

Previously, he served as an advisor to Prime Minister on Finance and Revenue from April 2019 to December 2020.

Dr Hafeez has served as the Finance Minister of Pakistan between 2010 and 2013 and Provincial Minister for Finance and Planning in Government of Sindh between 2000 and 2002.

He also had been member of the Senate of Pakistan from 2003 to 2006 and again from 2006 to 2012 and again from 2012 and 2018.

Dr Shaikh contested for the 2021 Senate election with support of ruling party PTI, but lost to rival PDM candidate Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani.
