ISLAMABAD, April 9,2022- Opposition and Treasury benches agreed at Speaker’s chamber to have voting on no-confidence motion at 8.00 PM and not to rioting during the speeches of each other.

Later after a long delay the session was resumed and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi rsumed his speech.

Earlier, the National Assembly session chaired by Speaker Asad Qaiser to vote on a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan was adjourned till 12:30 pm. But it could not be resumed after one hour, sources said hopefully will resume after prayer.

176 members were present in the session to vote in favour of no-confidence motion against PM Imran Khan.

Opposition members held consultation meeting presided over by Shehbaz Sharif.

The opposition considered various option including approach court for contempt of court.

Media reported that the government strategy is Speaker will suspend the membership of six opposition members for rioting. This will bring down the opposition members to 170.

Earlier, the Opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif, while addressing the National Assembly, said that the Supreme Court had given a historic decision and the Speaker should take action under this order.

He said that the House was going to defeat the constitutionally and legally elected today and would not allow any violation of the court order.

National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser said that he would abide by the decision of the court.

He said that the house would be run in accordance with the constitution and the court order would be carried out in accordance with its spirit.
The Speaker National Assembly said that foreign conspiracy to remove the government would also be discussed.
