Urdu Conference: CM  Sindh empahsises meaningful social changes, individuals contribution for peace and welfare

Karachi, November 30, 2023 — Chief Minister Sindh, Justice (Rtd) Maqbool Baqir, underscored the global importance of the International Urdu Conference during his address at the 16th World Urdu Award ceremony held at the Arts Council.

He stated that the conference is not only a hallmark of Karachi, Sindh, and Pakistan but has also become a recognized brand worldwide, having been held continuously for the past 16 years.

Justice (Rtd) Maqbool Baqir highlighted the imperative role of International Urdu Conference in shaping new dimensions and standards for individuals in the fields of science, knowledge, media, and society. He emphasized its significance, particularly for the new generation, fostering an environment of mutual learning, teaching, and civilization.

Addressing the audience, the Chief Minister asserted that for society to become a cradle of peace and welfare through meaningful social changes, individuals must contribute according to their intellectual, creative, and knowledgeable capacities. Despite being known as enlightened and peace-loving people, he acknowledged that certain accusations are levied against them, necessitating a proactive response.

In a call to action, Justice (Rtd) Maqbool Baqir stressed the importance of maintaining a positive reputation on the global stage. He proposed that through literary and cultural activities, they can dispel misconceptions and showcase the true nature of their peaceful and loving community. He asserted that the rich cultural heritage, civilization, and literary traditions of the region reflect the essence of a civilized nation.
