The Supreme Judicial Council issued a show-cause notice to Justice Mazahir Naqvi.

According to sources, the Supreme Judicial Council issued a show-cause notice to Justice Mazahar Ali Naqvi on the basis of majority, two members of the council opposed the show-cause notice to Justice Mazahar as against three.

A meeting of the Supreme Judicial Council was held under the chairmanship of Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa.

Justice Sardar Tariq Masood, Justice Ejazul Ahsan Chief Justice Lahore High Court Amir Bhatti and Chief Justice Balochistan High Court Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan attended the Supreme Judicial Council meeting.

Registrar Supreme Court and Attorney General Pakistan also attended the meeting of Supreme Judicial Council.

According to sources, a show-cause notice has been issued to Justice Mazahir Naqvi in the meeting and he has been asked to respond to the show-cause notice by November 10.

The Pakistan Bar Council has filed a reference against Justice Mazahir Naqvi on the alleged audio leak.

In the meeting of the Supreme Judicial Council, the pending complaints related to the judges were reviewed.

The complaint of miss conduct against Supreme Court Judge Justice Mazahir Naqvi and former Chairman NAB Justice Retired Javed Iqbal was also examined in the meeting.

The issue of complaints against Supreme Court judge Justice Mazahir Naqvi for his alleged involvement in the audio leak scandal was discussed.

According to Pakistan Bar Council sources, the Supreme Judicial Council has issued a show-cause notice to Justice Mazahir Naqvi on the complaint of the Supreme Court Bar, Pakistan Bar and other lawyers’ organizations and directed him to file a written response by November 10.
