Slapping in Assembly case reaches at police station

ISLAMABAD: The case of slapping during a protest in the National Assembly has reached the police station.

PPP MNA Shagufta Jumani reportedly slapped PTI MNA Ghazala Saifi during a protest in the National Assembly on Dec 30, when mini budget was being presented.

After the incident, PTI National Assembly member Ghazala Saifi came out of the house and in the meantime she told Geo News that “my hand is twisted, my finger is fractured”.

PPP National Assembly member Shugufta Jumani is of the view that Ghazala took the initiative. She is a senior, if anyone touches her, she will have to answer.

Secretariat Police conducted medical examination of Ghazala Saifi from Polyclinic Hospital. She could not get medico-legal report but Medico-Legal Officer gave her opinion.

Secretariat Police has referred the matter to Women Police Station. SHO Women Police Station, Misbah Shahbaz said that the rules and regulations for the registration of the case are being reviewed. On completion of the process, in the light of instructions from the higher authorities, after the registration of the case, give the FIR to the media through the public relations department of the police.

Talking to media, Shagufta Jumani said that some of the women who come on the recommendations of PTI have no idea about Parliament and laws, such women have come only for fashion show.
