Ruling coalition terms decision of 3-member bench as controversial, a minority opinion

ISLAMABAD, Apr 5,2023- The leadership of the ruling coalition parties termed the decision of the 3-member bench of the Supreme Court as controversial and a minority opinion.

The meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman suggested to fight for the supremacy of the parliament.

According to the Geo News, Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz insisted on filing a reference against the judges included in the three-member bench.
The participants said that justice has been killed by not forming a full court, parliament should recognize its supremacy, report further said that disrespect of parliament will not be tolerated in any case, if it still takes an apologetic attitude, it will cause a lot of damage.

It was also decided in the meeting, to confirm the rejection of the decision of the Supreme Court by the National Assembly.

The ruling coalition parties of PDM considered to file a reference on judicial misconduct against three judges including the Chief Justice. The legal team said that it will not be possible to implement the incomplete decision.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired the meeting of coalition parties attended by the leaders of government coalition parties.

Former President Asif Ali Zardari and Nawaz Sharif participated in the meeting through video link, while Maryam Nawaz, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui also participated.

Iftar dinner was also organized in honor of the participants.

Sources said that the meeting of parliamentary leaders under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will be held again tomorrow (Thursday), in which there will be consultation on the possible resolution presented in the National Assembly.
