Rs. 66.17 billion disbursed among flood-hit families: Shazia Marri

KARACHI, 19 Oct,2022- Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation & Social Safety Shazia Atta Marri on Wednesday revealed that a total of Rs.66.17 billion rupees has been distributed among the affected families across the country through the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) and 2,646,000 flood-hit families have been given financial aid of Rs 25,000 to each family under flood emergency cash assistance so far. 

Shazia Marri in a statement said that said that 5,000 families were given assistance of Rs 25,000 under the Prime Minister’s Flood Cash Relief Assistance and 46 billion rupees have been distributed to 18,12000 families in Sindh province, more than 2,10000 affected families of Balochistan have been provided more than 5 billion rupees and 7.5 billion rupees have been paid to 300,000 families of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation Shazia Atta Marri further said that more than 8 billion has been distributed in 3,23000 families in the Punjab province while an amount of 10.15 million has been distributed in 462 flood affected families of Gilgit-Baltistan. She said that transparency is being ensured in disbursement of funds under the BISP.
