KARACHI, Oct 19,2022- Five people sustained burns when fire caught their flat located in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of Karachi East.
According to the fire brigade center, fire broke out early in the morning in a flat on the third floor of Numan Terrace Phase 1, a residential building near Safari Park on University Road in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 11.
The residents tried their best to put off the fire on their own.
As the incident was reported, fire fighters and a fire extinguisher were immediately dispatched at 6 am.
According to Gulistan-i-Johar police station SHO Safdar Mashwani, the local residents brought the fire under control with the help of fire brigade personnel.
According to the spokesperson of Edhi Foundation, 50-year-old Tahir son of Rahmatullah, 25-year-old Anksha Tahir, 22-year-old Talha Tahir, 21-year-old Hamza Tahir and 30-year-old Misbah Subhan were burnt as a result of the fire.
The burn injured have been shifted to Civil Hospital Burns Center by Edhi Ambulance.
The immediate cause of the fire is said to be short circuit, but the incident is being investigated.
