LAHORE: The first FIR was registered in Lahore for violation of Corona SOPs and non-wearing of masks. The Punjab government is considering a complete lockdown in the province while smart lockdown has been implemented in 27 more areas of Lahore.

A case was registered against one Muhammad Jawaid for not wearing a mask in Islampura police station. According to police, the FIR has been registered under the provisions of Punjab Epidemic Control Ordinance 2020. Lahore Commissioner Muhammad Usman said that those who did not wear masks would be caught and locked up in the police station. He said a case would be registered against him for not wearing a mask and he could face up to six months in jail. Meanwhile, the Punjab government is considering a complete lockdown in the province while smart lockdown has been implemented in 27 more areas of Lahore. Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan said that various options including complete lockdown would be decided in the NCOC meeting. Across the country, 67 more people died of corona in one day, and another 4,400 people were confirmed infected in 24 hours. In Islamabad, corona began to spread rapidly among children between the ages of one and ten, and within 24 hours, the virus was confirmed in 22 children. The rate of positive cases in the federal capital went above 10 percent, while the rate of positive cases in Lahore was the highest at 18 percent. Nine people died in one day from Corona in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday.
