PTI entangled on in intra-party elections

ISLAMABAD, Dec 1,2023: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) finds itself entangled in controversy as serious allegations of deception and irregularities surface regarding its ongoing intra-party elections. Leading the charge is prominent PTI figure Akbar S. Babar, who has cast doubt on the transparency of the election process.

Speaking at the PTI Central Secretariat, Babar expressed deep concerns about the legitimacy of the intra-party elections and called for a comprehensive investigation by the Election Commission. He accused the party of engaging in deceptive practices, deceiving both the Election Commission and the voters under the guise of conducting fair intra-party elections.

Babar didn’t mince words as he questioned the integrity of the selection process, suggesting that it might be subject to legal challenges. He underscored the unprecedented nature of these elections, pointing out the apparent exclusion of voters and the absence of a clear nomination process.

The founding member of PTI lamented the lack of transparency in the electoral proceedings, revealing his futile attempts to gather essential information such as the election procedure, nomination papers, and voter lists. His assertion that party colleagues showed no inclination to participate adds another layer to the growing concerns about the transparency of PTI’s internal processes.

Imran’s withdrawal due to political reasons

In the midst of this internal discord, senior PTI leader Ali Muhammad Khan offered a different perspective by attributing Imran Khan’s withdrawal from the chairmanship to political reasons. This statement introduces an additional layer of complexity to the unfolding events within the party.

PLDAT cautions PTI to handle intra-party elections carefully

Speaking on a Geo News program, he stressed the importance of addressing technical aspects and adhering to the party’s constitution to ensure a fair and credible electoral process. As the controversy deepens, PTI faces a critical juncture with internal and external scrutiny intensifying.
