Karachi to face 165 million gallons of water shortage

KARACHi, May 8,2023- The People’s Party won the Karachi Municipal By-elections, according to the unofficial results, the People’s Party won 7 out of 11 seats in the UCs and 7 out of 15 seats in the wards.

According to unofficial results, overall results stood in favour of PPP Jamaat-e-Islami won 4 UC seats. Now People’s Party has 98 out of 246 UC seats in Karachi, followed by Jamaat-e-Islami with 89 seats and PTI with 42 seats. PTI is in the third place, Karachi Municipal By-elections. Now PPP is in strong position to get the Mayor seat of Karachi.

Pakistan Muslim League (N) 7, JUI 2, Tehreek Labeek and independent candidates have won one seat each while the results of 6 seats have been withheld by the Election Commission of Pakistan.

In the municipal by-elections held in Karachi on Sunday, where in PPP won 7 out of 15 wards, Jamaat-e-Islami won 5, Tehreek-e-Insaf 2 and PMLN won 1 ward.

Unofficial and non-final results of Karachi by-elections

According to the full unofficial and non-final results of Korangi UC 3, the candidate of Chairman of Jamaat-e-Islami won with 3412 votes while the candidate of Muslim League (N) got 2544 votes.

Faisal Naseem of Jamaat-e-Islami was elected as chairman with 2500 votes while Hamid Shahid of PPP was second with 885 votes.

According to the unofficial results of District Korangi UC-2, the chairman candidate of Pakistan People’s Party won with 2682 votes while Jamaat-e-Islami stood second with 1786 votes.

District South Lyari UC 2, the candidate of the People’s Party was elected as the chairman with 3245 votes, while the Jamaat-e-Islami stood second with 2574 votes, according to the unofficial results.

In district Kemari Baldia Town UC 2, the chairman candidate of Pakistan People’s Party was declared successful with 3009 votes, while Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf stood second with 1086 votes, according to the unofficial results.

West District UC Orangi Town, the candidate of PPP won with 2935 votes while the candidate of PTI came second with 2925 votes, the unofficial results revealed.

Jamaat-e-Islami won the UC 2 Orangi in West District and Chairman of Jamaat-e-Islami was declared successful with 4778 votes. The PPP candidate stood second with 3571 votes.

According to the unofficial and unofficial results of UC 8 Mominabad of West district, PPP candidate won with 2664 votes while PTI stood second with 1380 votes.

According to the complete non-final results of 15 wards of Karachi, People’s Party has won 7 wards, Jamaat-e-Islami 5, Tehreek-e-Insaf 2 and Muslim League (N) 1 ward.

Out of 6 wards of Kemari district, PPP won 5 and Muslim League-N succeeded in one, PPP won the ward seat of Malir Ibrahim Hydari district, besides this, the candidate of Jamaat-e-Islami was declared successful in the ward seat of Korangi Model Colony district.
