Islamabad High Court declares arrest of Imran Khan legal

ISLAMABAD, May 9,2023- Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Amir Farooq pronounced a reserved verdict regarding the arrest of Imran Khan.

The Chief Justice Islamabad High Court ordered the Registrar High Court to file an FIR.

The Islamabad High Court has issued contempt notices to the Interior Secretary and IG Islamabad.

In the judgment, the Registrar High Court has also been ordered to register an FIR of vandalism and violence against lawyers.

Chief Justice Amir Farooq reserved the decision after the hearing on the arrest of Imran Khan from the court premises. Meanwhile, Khawaja Haris and Barrister Salman Safdar, who are among the lawyers of PTI Chairman, gave arguments.

Chief Justice Aamir Farooq had reserved judgment on the case to determine whether Imran Khan’s arrest was legal or illegal.

He took notice of Imran Khan’s arrest and heard after 15 minutes, during which IG Islamabad, Additional Secretary Interior appeared in the court while the secretary did not appear in front of the court.

Chief Justice Amir Farooq expressed his indignation at the absence of the Home Secretary and told the IG Islamabad that IG sir! Come on and tell us what happened.

Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who reached the Islamabad High Court, was arrested in the NAB’s Al-Qadir Trust case.

Chairman PTI Imran Khan was arrested on the way as soon as he started going to the relevant office of the High Court to get his biometrics done.

According to sources, the NAB officials present there had warrants for the arrest of Imran Khan.
