Peshawar by-elections: Tough fight between Imran Khan and Biloure

PESHAWAR, Oct 14,2022- A tough fight between Imran Khan and ANP senior leader Ghulasm Ahmed Biloure is expected in NA-31 Peshawar by-elections. 

By-elections will also be held in NA-31 constituency of Peshawar on October 16. The seat fell vacant after the resignation of Shaukat Ali, who won on PTI ticket.

In all eight candidates including Chairman PTI Imran Khan and senior leader of Awami National Party Ghulam Ahmad Bilore are contesting for this seat.

The population of the constituency is 856,609 while the number of voters is 473,180. Among the total voters, there are 262,289 males and 210,891 females.

265 polling stations have been established in the constituency. In 2013, NA31 was called NA1. After new constituencies in 2018, it was renamed as NA 31 Peshawar.

In the 2013 election, Imran Khan won from here with more than 90 thousand votes, but later left this seat. On which the election was held and ANP’s Ghulam Ahmed Bilore won with a lead of 34,386 votes.

In 2018, PTI candidate Shaukat Ali won from this constituency by getting more than 87000 votes.

This time, a bitter contest is expected between former Prime Minister Imran Khan and the successful candidate of PDM, Ghulam Ahmed Bilore, from this constituency.
