Nepra approves increase of Rs 3.21 in electricity price

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved an increase of Rs 3.21 per unit in electricity price.

The electricity price was adjusted for the period of April to June 2022, which will result in an additional burden of Rs 93.957 million on the electricity consumers.

Sources say that Nepra sent the decision to increase the price of electricity in the quarterly adjustment to the federal government. The increase in electricity price will be applicable from October 1, 2022.

NEPRA to consider another increase of Rs 4.75 in electricity price

The increase of Rs 3.21 paisa per unit will be collected in installments in 4 months.

This increase will not be applicable to K Electric consumers.
