Pakistan likely to get 10 to 20 % less rains in monsoon

Pakistan is likely to get 10 to 20 percent less rains this year in monsoon.

A 3-day meeting of meteorologists of South Asian countries concluded yesterday, after which a joint declaration has been issued.

According to the announcement, there is a possibility of less than normal rains in South Asia this year, while less than normal rains are also expected in Pakistan during June to September this year.

The joint statement said that heat will remain above normal in most parts of South Asia.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department experts, the risk of catastrophic floods is very low in the country this year and there is a possibility of 10 to 20 percent less rains in monsoon this year.

Meteorologists from South Asia will meet again in June this year to reassess the situation.
