Nooriabad Site Engineer awarded 7 year RI on corruption charges
KARACHI (May 21, 2021) A Karachi accountability court sentenced Ali Asghar Banbhan, an assistant engineer of the site Nooriabad, to seven years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50 million in reference to making assets beyond income. The accountability court delivered a reserved judgment on the reference.
Arguments were completed by the lawyers of the parties at the last hearing. The prosecution succeeded in proving the crime.
The court sentenced Assistant Engineer Site Nooriabad Ali Asghar Banbhan to seven years imprisonment and fined him Rs 50 million.
The court also ordered confiscation of all the property of the convict.
According to NAB, a reference was made in 2017 against Assistant Engineer Site Nooriabad Ali Asghar for making assets in beyond his income.
The culprit has made more than 250 million assets.
