KARACHI (May 21, 2021): Secretary Health Service Sindh and the Secretary Cabinet Division on Friday, filed unconditional apology in the contempt of court petition filed in the Sindh High Court regarding delay in import and price fixation of Corona vaccine.

A two-judge bench of the Sindh High Court comprising Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Amjad Ali Sehto heard a contempt of court petition regarding delay in import and price fixation of corona vaccine. During the hearing, an unconditional apology was filed by the Secretary Health Services and the Secretary Cabinet Division.

The federal government apologized for violating the court order.

During the hearing, the assistant attorney general told the court that the federal government had issued a notification on the price of the vaccine. Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) lawyer said that the pharma company had sold the vaccines at a higher price and pleaded that court to order refund of higher price from pharma company. The pharma company sought time for reply said it will inform the court in three weeks.

DRAP said that further vaccine import by the pharma company is subject to court order. However, the moment.

The court later directed the Assistant Attorney General to submit a report signed by the competent authority and adjourned the hearing till August 17.
