SFDL-ICCBS to hold DNA training session for Medico-legal officers

KARACHI – Sindh Forensic DNA and Serology Laboratory (SFDL) at the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi will conduct the day-long training session for relevant medico-legal officers (MLOs) on Saturday.

The Spokesman of the ICCBS – University of Karachi on Thursday said that the relevant medico-legal officers in the training session will be provided the comprehensive training about the sample collection for forensic DNA analysis, chain of custody, and interpretation of reports.

This session is a part of the training program designed for various stake-holders separately, catering their official needs, the spokesman said, adding that SFDL In charge Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmad Khan, Police Surgeon Karachi Dr. Summaiya Syed, and Director CPLC Shanakht Project Amir Hassan will conduct the training session which will be followed by panel discussion.

The technical issues frequently faced by the MLOs and the advancements in the filed of Forensic DNA will be also discussed.
