Lahore by-election battle on social media

LAHORE Nov 28,2021 – Lahore constituency NA-133 by-election battle has surfaced on social media, where PML-N and PPP are accusing each other of buying votes.

Videos of alleged payments to voters have gone viral on social media, while PML-N activist Muhammad Arif has filed a written complaint with the Election Commission of Pakistan.

Ruling party PTI is no more in the race for NA-133 by-election as he Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Saturday rejected the nomination papers of PTI candidate Jamshed Iqbal Cheema. Main contestants are from PPP and PMLN.

The PML-N activist has taken stand in the petition that PPP is buying votes in the constituency, taking an oath and paying Rs 2,000 to a voter.

On the other hand, Secretary Information PPP Punjab Shehzad Cheema said that videos of giving money are circulating on social media, such videos are going viral by both the parties.  

Shehzad Cheema further said that the party has not asked anyone to give money to anyone, if this has happened at any level, PPP strongly condemns it.Polling will be held on December 5.
