Khyber Pakhtunkhwa seeks troops help

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Home Department has requested the federal Home ministry to deploy troops in controlling the corona virus in the province.

In its letter, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Home Department requested the deployment of troops to assist the civil administration in controlling the corona virus in the province.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government said in a letter that the rate of corona positive cases was increasing in major cities of the province.

The letter said that the NCOC has decided to take more effective measures to implement the SOPs.

Pakistan consuming 90% oxygen

Prime Minister special assistant on National Health Services Dr Faisal Sultan said Pakistan is consuming at least 90% of oxygen it is producing, Saturday. “We need to take it very seriously.”

Dr Sultan said the government had increased its capacity of producing oxygen by 380 metric tonnes and Pakistan is now producing 800 metric tonnes of oxygen.

Colleges closed in 25 Punjab districts

All public and private colleges in 25 districts of Punjab have been closed with immediate effect until further notice, according to a notification issued by the provincial education department.

education department said colleges in Toba Tek Singh, Rahim Yar Khan, DG Khan, Bahawalpur, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Khushab, Lodhran, Mandi Bahauddin, Pak Pattan, Sahiwal, Sialkot, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Multan, Okara, Jhang, Khanewal, Kasur, Bahawalnagar, Chakwal and Bhakkar will remain closed until further orders.

Sindh ready for the lockdown

Sindh information minister said Nasir Hussain Shah if the situation worsens, we will lock down.

Nasir Hussain Shah said that we made many decisions under NCOC. “We are also ready for the lockdown,” he said.
