Key PML-N wrestlers ousted from Parliament: General Elections

LAHORE, Feb 11,2024: In a surprising turn of events during the general elections, several prominent wrestlers affiliated with the PML-N were unseated from their parliamentary positions.

Notable defeats include Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Sheikh Rohail Asghar, Mian Nauman, and Rana Mashhood, all hailing from Lahore. In Gujranwala, considered a stronghold for the Muslim League, Khurram Dastgir faced defeat in Constituency NA-78.

Saad Rafiq lost to Latif Khosa in Lahore’s NA-122 constituency, while Sheikh Rohail Asghar of PML-N was defeated in NA-121. Mian Nauman suffered defeat in NA-129, and Rana Mashhood could not secure victory in PP-172. Faisalabad witnessed an upset as Rana Sanaullah lost to independent candidate Nisar Jat in NA-100, with Rana Sanaullah’s son-in-law, Ahmed Shahryar, also failing to retain his seat in PP-116.

Abid Sher Ali faced defeat in Faisalabad’s NA-102 constituency, and Mohsin Shah Nawaz Ranjha from NA-83 Sogodha was also removed from Parliament. Burgess Tahir lost his seat in Nankana Constituency NA-111. Furthermore, PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif was unable to secure a win in NA-15 Mansehra.
