Intizar murder case: 3 accused acquitted, death sentence of 2 commuted to life imprisonment

KARACHI, Oct 14,2022- The Sindh High Court has acquitted three accused and commuted the death sentence of two accused to life imprisonment in the Intizar  murder case, who was killed by the policemen in Defense area Karachi.

The court gave verdict on the appeals of the named accused.

In the Sindh High Court, the appeals against the sentences of the policemen in the Intizar Hussain murder case were heard.

The court accepted the appeals of the accused against the sentence in the murder case of youth Intizar.

Earlier, the court had reserved its decision on the appeals after hearing the arguments of the lawyers of the parties.

The court acquitted the accused Tariq Mehmood, Tariq Rahim and Azhar and other three accused while changing the death sentence of two police officers Daniyal and Bilal to life imprisonment. The court also removed the provisions of terrorism from the case.

A 19-year-old youth, Intizar, was shot dead by ACLC personnel and officers on 13 January 2018 in the limits of Derakhshan police station.

A case was registered in Darkhshan police station on the complaint of Ishtiaq Ahmed, father of the victim.
