Four accused of gang rape case arrested

GUJARNWALA, Dec 31,2021- Four accused of alleged gang rape of a woman were arrested from Hafizabad Turn.

According to police officials, four persons have been arrested from Man Mor area of ​​Gujranwala on charges of allegedly assaulting a woman.

According to the victim, she was standing on the road side near Man Mor to go home.

The victim told police that four men in a car forced her into a car and took her to a house where she was gang raped.

According to the police, the medical examination of the victim woman was conducted, while further investigation into the incident is underway.

 77 incidents of gang rape in Punjab

During the first six months of this year, there were 77 incidents of gang rape in Punjab of which 60% of the accused were not arrested by the police.

According to police records, Gujranwala region topped the list with 30 cases of gang rape and 12 incidents of gang rape were reported in Faisalabad region.

According to the report, 9 cases of gang rape were registered in Multan region while 7 cases of gang rape took place in Lahore.

In addition, 6 incidents of gang rape were reported in Dera Ghazi Khan (DG Khan) region, 5 in Sheikhupura and 5 in Rawalpindi.
