Former US diplomat Rabin Raphael meets Imran Khan
Former US diplomat Rabin Raphael met with Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Sources said that Rabin Rafael met Imran Khan in Bani Gala, Senator Shehzad Wasim was also present at the time of the meeting Geo News reported.
Robin Raphael is a former US diplomat, CIA analyst and lobbyist who was Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs in 1993. However, there is no official confirmation about the meeting from PTI.
Sources said that Fawad Chaudhry has also met the US Ambassador to Pakistan. Donald Bloom at the US Embassy on September 8.
Who is Rabin Raphael?
Rabin Raphael has long background regarding contacts within Pakistan. Her closeness to the Pakistanis remained whether she was on and off the job. So much so there was a period some suspicion that warranted the FBI an investigation in 2014 for alleged spying. However the case was dropped a year later it was taken that she was acting as an extra channel for senior state department officials to get a read on the political and security situation in Pakistan. Foreign media reported that a particular references was given of 2011 when relations had dived after the Osama bin Laden raid, and the Raymond Davis and Salala attacks on Pakistanis by Americans.
In 2008, while between government jobs, Raphael even worked as a lobbyist for Pakistan and she then became special adviser on Pakistan media reported.
