Federal minister will become vice chancellor of a university

ISLAMABAD, 17,2022- For the first time in the country’s history, a federal minister will assume the charges of the vice chancellor of a government university on November 23.

According to the notification issued by Federal Ministry of Education and Vocational Training Raja Muhammad Akhtar Iqbal, Federal Minister of Education and Vocational Training Rana Tanveer will look after the affairs of Allama Iqbal Open University until the appointment of a permanent vice chancellor.

It should be remembered that the Federal Minister of Education is the Pro-Chancellor of the Federal Universities while the President is the Chancellor. This is the first time that the Federal Minister of Education and Vocational Training Rana Tanveer is also serving as the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University.

It should be noted that the four-year term of Vice Dr. Ziaul Qayyum is ending on November 22 and according to the notification, he will take charge of the Vice Chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University from November 23.
