FAC in electricity bills is not waived, but postponed

ISLAMABAD, Sep 15, 2022- Federal Energy Minister Khurram Dastgir has said that the fuel adjustment charges – FAC in electricity bills is not waived but postponed, which will be collected between October and March.
Instead of imported fuel, plans will be made to generate electricity from local sources, which will reduce the cost of electricity.
Talking to the media, Khurram Dastgir said that our effort is to give relief to people with less resources, we are making a policy by looking at the financial situation.

Domestic consumers up to 300 units will be charged fuel adjustment between October and March.

On the other hand, addressing the Lawyers’ Convention in Islamabad, the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that inflation is at its peak, if the conditionalities are not fulfilled then the IMF program will stop.
