ECP to hear foreign funding case on daily basis
Election Commission extends date for submission of nomination papers
ISLAMABAD, April 15,2022- The Election Commission of Pakistan ECP has decided to hear the foreign funding case on a daily basis.
A spokesman for the ECP said the purpose of the daily hearing was to decide the case within 30 days as directed by the court.
The Election Commission has decided to hold daily hearings in the light of the decision of the Islamabad High Court.
It may be recalled that yesterday the Islamabad High Court had directed the ECP to decide the foreign funding case within 30 days.
ECP turns down PTI plea for adjournment: Foreign funding case
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani of Islamabad High Court issued the written decision.
The PTI had challenged the ECP’s decision. The ECP had on January 25 and January 31 rejected the PTI’s petitions.
The prohibited foreign funding case has been pending in the Election Commission since November 2014.
