Directives to ensure cleanliness on mourning processions route  in Muharram

Hyderabad, July 28,2022 – Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Nadeem-ur-Rehman Memon has directed all the concerned departments and officers to ensure cleanliness in the routes of mourning processions and around the places of Majalis during Muharram particularly on 10th Muharram (Ashura). 

He directed to ensure proper street lighting and to make their contingency plan regarding arrangements for Muharram and send its copy to him. He was presiding over a meeting regarding necessary arrangements and maintenance of law and order situation during Muharram  at Shahbaz Hall Hyderabad.

DIG Police Hyderabad Range Pir Muhammad Shah, Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Fuad Ghaffar Soomro, Deputy Commissioners and SSPs of the Division, Officers of Rangers, Police, Health, Buildings Departments, HESCO and other concerned departments attended the meeting. Addressing the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner appealed to the clerics of different schools of thought to play their vital role for peace and harmony during Muharram and cooperate with the administration.

No programmes except Islamic programmes would be allowed on the cable channel

Commissioner said that during Muharram, no programmes except Islamic programmes would be allowed on the cable channel while action would be taken against the violating cable operator.  He informed that besides a control rooms in his office, control rooms would be established in all Deputy Commissioners’ and Assistant Commissioners’ offices of the division, which would work round-o-clock and take immediate steps for the redress of people’s complaints.

He directed the officers of the Police Department to ensure foolproof security arrangements during Muharram.  He directed the Hesco officers to avoid load shedding of electricity from 7 pm to 6 am during Muharram.

He also directed the concerned officers of Health Department to put hospitals, rural health centers and primary health centers on high alert and also set up medical camps at different places.

DIG Police Hyderabad Range Pir Mohammed Shah while giving briefing on security arrangements informed the meeting that measures for ensuring foolproof security during Muharram had been taken and intelligence network had been extended.

He said that action with the help of concerned department and Rangers would be taken against those who spread hatred and provocative content on social media while meetings would also be held with clerics of different schools of thought in this regard.
