Registration to start next two days

KARACHI, Jan 26,2022- The Commissioner Karachi City Marathon will be held on February 13 and registration will be started within next three days.

Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Iqbal Memon has appealed the citizens from all walks of life are requested to get registered in maximum number to take part in the race and added that their participation will help the city administration for his efforts to brand the Karachi as a city of peace and to spread that the Karachi is the City of Sports.

He hoped citizens in maximum number to come forward and participate in the marathon to send the message to the world that Karachi is a peaceful, safe and secure city.

Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Iqbal Memon presided over a meeting to review the arrangements at his office.

The meeting was attended among others by the Additional Commissioner Karachi Jawwad Mazher, Deputy Commissioner south Irshad Sodhar, members of the technical committee including the secretary of Sindh Olympic Assocation Ahmed Ali Rajput, Ghulam Muhammad, Khalid Shamsi and others.

.He said the marathon is open to everyone, and registrations can be made through the Commissioner Karachi website. Spot registration will also be carried out at Moin Khan Stadium DHA three days before the start of the day of marathon.

The meeting decided that the marathon would follow the Covid SOPs strictly no unvaccinated runners would be allowed to get registered

Commissioner Memon said, “The competition would be for Under 19, Under 30, and 30-Plus categories for both men and women; Men and Women would be required to get registered separately.

The marathon race be starting from the DHA Moin Khan Cricket Academy and culminating at the same point and it will be over a distance of ten kilmotres for men while for the women runners it would be for 6 and half kilometre.
