Changes in major institutions expected

ISLAMABAD, April 12,2022- With the formation of the Shehbaz government, the possibility of changes in major institutions are expected. New Governor SBP, Chairman FBR and Secretary Establishment could be appointed.

Dr Syed Tauqir Hussain Shah, a BS-21 officer of Pakistan Administrative Services, presently awaiting posting is posted as Secretary to Prime Minister’s office.

With the change of government, changes are also likely to take place in major institutions, sources said, adding that a new governor of SBP and chairman FBR will be appointed.

Economic front

Negotiations with the IMF will begin this week after the formation of the new economic team. Major announcements are likely to be made immediately after the appointment of the new Prime Minister. The Secretary Establishment will be appointed this week.

Negotiations with the IMF will begin this week after the formation of a new economic team. The new team will be tasked with formulating federal economic indicators and tax plans. The policy rate issued by the SBP will be reviewed.

Relief for public

The newly elected Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has announced a minimum salary of Rs 25,000, effective April 1.

He also announced 10% increase in salaries, pension, and revive the Benazir Income Support Program.
