The burnt clothes and mobile phone of Nazim Jokhio sent for forensics without verified by complainant.
A Karachi court on Tuesday, further extended the physical remand of Nazim Jokhio murder accused for two days. complainant and his lawyers were not present at the time of the discovery,
The accused should be produced in court on November 18.
Nazim Jokhio was allegedly killed for reportedly filming a video of some foreigner hunters and uploading it on social media.
Investigating officer told the court that Nazim Jokhio’s burnt mobile phone and clothes were recovered and sent for forensics.
Who was Nazim Jokhio?
The complainant lawyer raised the objection and said the complainant had not verified the clothes and mobile of Nazim Jokhio, and added that the complainant and his lawyers were not present at the time of the discovery of the important evidence.
The complainant lawyer filed an application for forensic of SHO Memon Goth’s mobile and claimed that the SHO is in touch with the accused.
The court will hear the arguments on the complainant’s request for inclusion of anti-terrorism sections on the next hearing.
The incident
Nazim Jhokio had stopped a car near his village in Thatta that bore a foreign number plate and asked the people sitting inside the vehicle why they blocked the road and what they were doing there. A verbal brawl ensued. Nazim was given death threats and they tried to snatch his mobile. He somehow managed to escape from the scene at the time.
According to his brother, Afzal, Nazim had broadcast a live stream on social media of a hunting expedition involving foreign guests of PPP MPA Jam Awais.
Later, the PPP MPA called him to his house, where he was brutally tortured, Nazim’s family claim.
