Bajaur: Attack on security of polio team, 5 personnel killed, 10 injured

Terrorists have targeted the policemen on security duty of anti-polio team in the northern district of Bajaur of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the police, there has been an explosion in Belot Farsh area of Bajaur, as a result of which five police officials were killed, while more than 10 were injured.

The Bajaur police said that the explosion took place near the police truck.

Policemen were on their way to provide security for the anti-polio campaign team when they were hit by the blast, according to the Bajaur police.

The police truck was completely destroyed by the explosion.

The bodies and the injured have been shifted to Khar Hospital, the police have started investigating the incident.

The nature of the blast was not immediately known and no terrorist group claimed responsibility.
