All RO plants in Thar should be made functional: Nasir Shah

KARACHI Sep 15,2021- Sindh Minister for Local Government and Public Health Engineering Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that measures were being taken on priority basis to provide clean drinking water and sewerage to the people in the backward rural areas of Sindh.

He expressed these views at a meeting in his office on Wednesday which reviewed development schemes for provision of wastewater and clean drinking water to rural and backward areas of Sindh and activation of inactive RO plants.

The meeting was attended by PPP MNA Mahesh Malani, MPA Muhammad Qasim Soomro, Secretary Public Health Engineering Saeed Awan, Deputy Commissioner Tharparkar Muhammad Nawaz Soho and other senior officials of Public Health Engineering. The Minister said that clean drinking water and basic amenities for the people of rural and backward areas were part of the vision of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari while Sindh government was also among the priorities.

The government is working hard to provide basic amenities to the people and improve their quality of life.

Syed Nasir Hussain Shah on the occasion expressed his indignation over the theft of goods brought for development schemes and said that the theft of goods purchased from public money would not be tolerated. And determine those responsible and punish them according to law.

He said that the schemes for disposal of wastewater should be completed on time and in accordance with standards. However, measures should be taken to keep the functional RO plants functional, he said, adding that all RO plants for the people of Thar should be made functional and all measures should be taken in this regard.

The Minister directed that the relevant elected representatives should be taken into confidence and kept in touch with them regarding the development schemes launched for the benefit of the people. Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said on the occasion that 25 thousand gallons RO plant was inaugurated in Ibrahim Haider’s village which is a backward area of ​​Karachi which was completed at a cost of 5 million rupees.
