Four bodies of fishermen retrieved, three still missing

KARACHI, Jan 22,2022- All 22 fishermen of unfortunate incident reached safely at island, says a report submitted by  Commissioner Hyderabad to Chief Minister Sindh.

An unfortunate incident took place with two boats.

Both boats left Karachi Fisheries coast on January 16.

All 22 fishermen reach nearby island and safe. Another boat namely “Al Siddique” near Hajamro Creek at about 12 midnight, with 16 fishermen onboard, reportedly drowned.

Of them eight fishermen have been rescued with the help of Pakistan Marine & Pakistan Maritime Security Agency as well as Pakistan Coastguards.

Rescue Operation for remaining 8 fishermen being carried out under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Thatta.

Fishermen who were rescued earlier this morning are stable and were given necessary medical aid as well as cloths, footwear and jackets etc.

Eight people rescued included Khamiso, Siddique, Usman, Haroon, Akber, Umer, Bhutto.

All are residents of village Haji Ghulam Malah, Taluka Golarchi, district Badin.

Second boat with 22 fishermen onboard were rescued and on their way to Keti Bandar.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of the incident and had sought report from the Commissioner Hyderabad.
