Murder case registered: Bhagchand Meghwar death in custody

MITHI March 26,2022- SSP Tharparkar Sardar Hassan Niazi reached Mithi Police Station and held talks with MPA Faqir Sher Muhammad Balalani and DC Thar، Muhammad Nawaz Soho. Murder case has been registered against five persons including a police officer.

The heirs and Meghwar community people has observed sit in out side police station Mithi, demanding justice.

SSP Tharparkar Sardar Hassan Niazi suspended all personnel on duty including SHO Mithi Somar Mangrio.

Meanwhile after taking notice by the Sindh government, DIG Mirpurkhas has directed the SSP SSP Mithi to depute a senior officer to hold intendent and transparent inquiry to ascertain the cause of Bhagchand Meghwar.

Special Assistant to Chief Minister for Human Rights Department, Surendar Valasai has expressed deeply concern about the reported death of Bhagchand Meghwar in the custody of Mithi Police Station in Tharparkar district and written a letter to DIG Mirpurkhas.

SSP Tharparkar Sardar Hassan Niazi suspended all personnel on duty including SHO Mithi Somar Mangrio.

The family of the victim has alleged that it was the torture that led to the death of Bhagchand. However, the police said the youth died of heart failure.

Sindh CM’s special assistant has asked the police  to hold transparent inquiry into the circumstances that led to his death and fix responsibility together with the findings of post mortem report.

Whosoever is found involved, in case of unnatural death, may be prosecuted as per the law of the land, Valasai said in his letter.
