2 hostages recovered from Shah Latif police station, 4 officials arrested

KARACHI, Apr 16,2023 – Two hostages recovered from Shah Latif police station, when the anti-violent crime cell along with the law enforcement agency raided this of Karachi. Two youngsters were  kidnapped for ransom.

According to SSP Abdul Rahim of the Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC), the families received kidnapper’s call for Rs 50 lakh as ransom.

SSP Rahim said that the kidnappers first called the families of the hostages to Quaidabad and the second time they called them to Shah Latif area to collect the ransom money.

AVCC head said that four accomplices of the kidnappers were caught as soon as they received the ransom, and a raid was conducted at Shah Latif police station on the identification of the arrested accused.

According to SSP Abdul Rahim, both the abductees were present in a room inside the police station.

According to Malir police officials, no leniency will be given to any official or officer involved in the incident, legal and departmental action will be taken against them.

Malir police officials have also said that the records of the abducted persons are also being checked, while the four arrested officials are posted in Malir district, who are being investigated.
