KARACHI: National cricket team bowling coach Waqar Younis has decided to leave for Australia due to his wife’s surgery.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) media manager said, Waqar Younis will leave Zimbabwe today while his wife will undergo surgery after Ramadan.
The PCB said a 14-day quarantine was required for entry into Australia, so Waqar Younis was leaving early.
The Pakistan Cricket Board also said that Waqar Younis will no longer be available for the national team for the tour of Zimbabwe.
The PCB further said that Waqar Younis will return to Australia to take charge of the national team.
The tour to Zimbabwe starts with the opening T20 International at Harare on April 21.
The second game will be played on April 23, and the third on the 25.
The first of the two Tests will be played from April 29.
