Transgenders to get financial support under Benazir Kafalat program
Transgenders made part of Benazir Kafalat program
The government of Pakistan has decided for the first time to make transgenders a part of Benazir Kafalat program.
Federal Minister and Chairperson Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) Shazia Murri announced to make transgender women a part of the support program.
Shazia Marri said that eunuchs are also a part of the society like us and it is the duty of the government to take care of them.
She said that to benefit from the program, transgenders should first update their gender in the ID card from NADRA.
Sindh gives transgenders representation in local councils
The federal minister further said that transgenders should get their identity card updated from NADRA and get registered at BISP tehsil offices.
Shazia Marri also said that on successful registration, the applicant eunuch will get a message from 8171 number and will get Rs 7000 quarterly.
