KARACHI, Aug 24,2022- Torrential rains have affected the airports in Pakistan and force temporary closure of Nawabshah airport.

Reports said that Civil Aviation Authority (CCA) airfield almost fully submerged rendering it unusable.

The aerodrome to remain closed till 26 August initially, CCA sources said.

Multan International Airport is available to be used as an alternative.

The concerned quarters have been mobilized to make airport available as soon as possible.

Nawabshah Airport was constructed by the British Raj, the airport stretches over 772 acres and has one runway which has a length of 2,734 m. It got a concrete runway for the first time in the 1960s and a new terminal building was made in 1992.
