Tent schools to be established across Sindh: Sardar Shah

UMERKOT, Sep 01,2022- Sindh Education Minister and Focal Person Rain Emergency for Umerkot Syed Sardar Ali Shah has said that tent schools are being established across Sindh to continue the education of flood affected children.

Sindh Education Minister held a meeting with international and local social organizations.

Representatives of various NGOs including Deputy Commissioner, SSP, Social Welfare, Education Department, UNICEF participated in the meeting.

Education Minister Sardar Shah said that there has been a huge loss of education along with the human disaster in the flood, “We are in a state of education emergency, 20 to 22 lakh children may be out of school,” Sindh Education Minister said.

Sradar Shah said that we have to come forward with all the institutions for the education of children with relief measures and added that education department is going to establish tent schools across Sindh.

Umerkot: Funds required for restoration of old and natural water ways

Education Minister said, if nothing is done now to connect children with education, there may be a big disaster in the future.

Children who have been displaced from their areas due to floods will drop out if they do not get a learning environment in the campus, said Education Minister. We have to set up tent schools/temporary learning centers wherever relief camps and victims are sheltered.

Sardar Shah said we are afraid of food shortage because the next wheat crop will not be available.

The whole of Pakistan is in the grip of floods, the government is working within its available resources, but help of all NGO’s is required for this huge relief operation, Sardar Shah said.
