Sindh facing acute water shortage, but TP canal is flowing, says Anwar Siyal

KARACHI- June 30, 2021- Sindh is facing acute water shortage, while 11,000 cusecs of water is flowing in Taunsa – Panjnad Link Canal (TP Link Canal)  in Punjab, said Sindh irrigation minister Anwar Siyal, while speaking at a press conference here on Wednesday.

He said, If TP Link is closed, water shortage in Sindh as well as in Baluchistan will be eliminated, but water flow in TP canal is not being stopped. Therefore water crisis is deepening.

He said there is shortfall of 11,609 cusecs of water and complained that the minutes of the IRSA meeting are not given.

Anwar Siyal said federal government did not spend Rs 29 crore of Zakat from Sindh’s share of Sindh was spent.
