SHC issues arrest warrants of Chief Engineer Kotri Barrage

SUKUUR (June 1, 2021): The Sindh High Court Sukkur Bench issued arrest warrants for Chief Engineer Kotri Barrage and XEN during the hearing of the forest department land grabbing case.

Justice Aftab Gorar remarked that water is not provided to the real farmers, but it  is provided to the land occupiers.

The Sindh High Court, Sukkur Beach, while expressing its displeasure over non-compliance of court orders during the hearing in the forest department land grab case, directed SSP Jamshoro to arrest the Chief Engineer and XEN.

The court also questioned the non-arrest of landlord Sarfraz Nizamani of Tando Allahyar, to which SSP Tando Allahyar said that raids were carried out to arrest Sarfraz Nizamani but he was not found.

According to SSP Tando Allahyar, the last location of the accused was in Islamabad, whereupon the court directed IG Sindh, IG Islamabad to arrest the landlord and adjourned the hearing till July 6.

It may be noted that in the previous hearings, the name of Sarfraz Nizamani was in the list of occupants by the forest department
