Sale of unapproved food products stopped on the motorways in Punjab

LAHORE, Nov 19, 2023: In a significant move to ensure food safety and regulatory compliance, the sale of unapproved food products has been stopped on the motorways of Punjab.

The Punjab Food Authority has taken a decisive step by issuing notices to 326 food points situated along Motorways M1, M2, and M3.

According to the issued notices, food points have been given a deadline until November 21 to remove all non-approved food items from their inventory. Failure to comply with this directive will result in the confiscation of unapproved products, as emphasized by the Punjab Food Authority.

The notice underscores the importance of adherence to regulations, stating that all items sold at these food points must be registered with the Punjab Food Authority. The Authority has firmly warned that any violation of these guidelines will lead to the confiscation of the non-compliant products.

In a clear message to consumers, the Food Authority emphasized the need to purchase food items only from suppliers licensed by the Punjab Food Authority. This move aims not only to ensure the safety of consumers but also to uphold the standards set by regulatory authorities for food products sold along the highways of Punjab. As the deadline approaches, it is expected that food establishments will swiftly comply with the directives to avoid any punitive actions by the authorities.
