Rs 500,000 fine for losing eye sight of 16 people

LAHORE: An investigation into the loss of sight following eye operation was completed after an operation on 16 people at the Multan Trust Hospital.

A fine of Rs 5 lakh was imposed on the hospital management and the doctor’s private clinic was also sealed.

Criminal action has also been proposed against surgeon Dr Hasnain.

According to Chairperson Punjab Healthcare Commission Dr Atiya Mubarak, the case of the surgeon who performed the operation was referred to the PMC and the Health Department.

The Commission has submitted the inquiry report to the Punjab Government.
